 Where Is The Kingdom

Matthew 6:33 ~ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

But where is the kingdom of God? Is it in within us... within our hearts? Or is it here, there and everywhere, surrounding us, unseen until the God grants us access through His Spirit?

Luke 17: ~ Where is it? (KJV)21And when He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Verse 21 follows, from various translations...
KJV Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
NKJV nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
NIV nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."
entos, The Greek word Jesus used for 'within' was entos, translated as within, among, in the midst... compare:
NASB nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst."
NLT You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.
ESV nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."
Darby nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.
NIRV People will not say, 'Here it is.' Or, 'There it is.' God's kingdom is among you."
...and covering all of the bases...
Amplified Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].

Remember that in the above Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees. Is it probable that Jesus would say that the kingdom was within the Pharisees...? or more likely that is was in their very midst, yet unseen by them?

Jesus never spoke of the kingdom entering the hearts of men, but often talked of us entering the kingdom. This is especially relevant in the case of the above verses speaking to the Pharisees... Consider the following:
Matthew 5: 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
So again, consider which is more likely in Luke 21:  Was Jesus saying the kingdom was within the Pharisees, or that the kingdom was in the very midst of the Pharisees?

Jesus speaks of entering the kingdom in many instances other than this also:
Mat 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Mat 18: 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mark 9: 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire
Mark 10: 23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!”
Luke 18: 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
John 3: 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

It very much seems to me that the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven, is here in our midst... it is at hand, rather than inside of us... and that God's plan is for us to enter into it.
It is the Spirit which is inside us and it is the Spirit which grants us access to the kingdom if we endure until the end, casting aside the flesh and ego, and doing the will of the Father. We know the will of the Father by His Spirit inside us, by which He has written His commandments on our hearts.

The web site gotQuestions.orggives the following in answer to the question asked of Jesus by the Pharisees:

The kingdom of God is the rule of an eternal sovereign God over all creatures and things (Psalm 103:19Daniel 4:3). The kingdom of God is also the designation for the sphere of salvation entered into at the new birth (John 3:5-7), and is synonymous with the “kingdom of heaven.”

The kingdom of God embraces all created intelligence, both in heaven and earth that are willingly subject to the Lord and are in fellowship with Him. The kingdom of God is, therefore, universal in that it includes created angels and men. It is eternal, as God is eternal, and it is spiritual—found within all born-again believers. We enter the kingdom of God when we are born again, and we are then part of that kingdom for eternity. It is a relationship "born of the spirit" (John 3:5), and we have confident assurance that it is so because the Spirit bears witness with our spirits (Romans 8:16).

God is sovereign, omnipotent, omniscient and the ruler over all of His creation. However, the designation "the kingdom of God" compasses that realm which is subject to God and will be for eternity. The rest of creation will be destroyed. Only that which is part of the "kingdom of God" will remain.
